Iohanna Weiss acts as Project and Communication Officer, working in particular on quality assurance and process improvement at ECES Headquarters. Amongst other activities, she is also participating in the activities of Pro Electoral Integrity Project and Pro Peace Kenya.

Prior to joining ECES, Iohanna has acted as International Relations & Business Development Officer at the Secretariat of International Relations of the Pernambuco State, in Northeast Brazil, developing diplomatic ties and international business opportunities for Pernambuco.

Before this, she has gained experience in sustainable development and social inclusion, working in Brazil at the NGO AVSI (Association of Volunteers in International Service) Foundation. Within a project devoted to women empowerment through eco-farming in extremely poor environments, she assisted in project fundraising & financing, as well as supporting field project management and oversight.

She holds a B.A. Degree in International Relations from the Catholic University Damas / Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and she is currently finalizing her M.A. Degree in Electoral Policy and Administration at the Sant’ Anna School of Advanced Studies (SSSA).

She speaks Portuguese, German, English, Italian and French.
