She is a soon-to-be master's graduate in International Relations and European Studies at the University of Florence, specialising in European Studies. Her academic journey began in Milan, earning her bachelor’s degree in Modern Foreign Languages and International Relations at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart. Her bachelor’s thesis, titled ‘‘The African Court on Human and People's Rights: State Resistance and Withdrawal. The Rwandan Case’’, focused on the dynamics of state engagement and disengagement and political and institutional resistance to the African Union’s Court, focusing on Rwanda’s 2016 withdrawal. During her studies, she also underwent an Erasmus+ semester at Université Jean Monnet in Saint-Étienne, France.
Sofia’s previous work experience includes volunteering with various organisations in Uganda such as AVSI, CARE, and Habitat for Humanity.
