Judith Parguiña Upule is a Project Officer and Communications at ECES HQ. She holds a bilingual master’s degree in political sciences and international Relations from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Her master thesis analyzed the performance of LGBT+ candidates in the Brazilian municipal elections in 2020.

Her expertise encompasses security, peace, conflict dynamics, and gender. Before joining ECES, Judith interned at the center of political research Jacky Moral, supporting the "Stop feminicide" law proposal. She further honed her skills working in the Delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands in Cape Verde in Cape Verde, and consulting for the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the High-level Workshop on Climate, Peace, and Security.

Judith's professional journey includes a stint at the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Nairobi and Berlin respectively. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.
