Karine Sahli-Majira is an international consultant with over 30 years of experience in demography, civil registration, and electoral processes, particularly in Africa and fragile contexts. She holds advanced degrees in demography from the University of Strasbourg and has worked extensively with electoral management bodies, civil registration authorities, governments, and civil society organisations.
She has provided technical assistance, audits, and strategic advisory services to major international actors including the European Union, United Nations agencies, the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), the World Bank, and ECES. Her expertise covers voter registration systems (including biometric registers), electoral file audits, civil registry reform, population data analysis, and the use of statistics to support democratic governance and public policy. She is also an experienced trainer, recognised for her rigorous, participatory, and inclusion-focused approach.
