Team leader of the European Union's technical assistance to the electoral process in the Central African Republic until April 2022, Eric des Pallières holds a degree from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce and a Master's degree in International Politics. He has more than twenty years of diversified experience in supporting electoral processes, human rights and democracy. On behalf of the European Union and the United Nations, he has worked in many countries in transition to democracy in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in the Maghreb, South-East Asia and the Balkans. Furthermore, he has extensive expertise in electoral assistance in the following areas: legal and regulatory framework reform, strategic and operational planning, voter registration, candidate management, strategic communication, stakeholder dialogue, results systems, training and capacity building.

In the area of technical observation and assessment of electoral processes, he has contributed to 21 observation missions with the EU and ODIHR, including 15 as team leader as well as electoral and legal expert of EU observation, expertise and exploratory missions. Eric has also led EU support to citizen observation platforms in Tunisia and Madagascar. He is an accredited facilitator and BRIDGE training curriculum developer.

Eric des Pallières is fluent in French and English, has a good level of Spanish and has knowledge of Khmer.
