Initially journalist, Virginie Ramey joined the development world thanks to a research on the role of media for peace in conflict zones. After nearly six years in the Democratic Republic of Congo to the EU Delegation as press officer and then political analyst, Virginie joined the EU observation mission of the 2006 elections as media expert.

 

For the EU Delegation in Sierra Leone, she managed several projects focusing on governance, especially in the field of elections, media and gender. Back at the EU Headquarters in Brussels, she focused on gender equality, bringing its expertise to dozens of European projects worldwide while carrying out several communication initiatives on this issue. Since January 2015, she was responsible for information and communication for the new Directorate of the European Commission dedicated to the EU Neighborhood and Enlargement.

 

She holds a Master I in Philosophy (Lyon III) and a Master II in Geopolitics (Paris VIII), she speaks French, English and Spanish.
