The ECES family wishes you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year 2021 filled with health, love and success!

2020 has been a challenging year for all of us due to the spread of coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, we, at ECES, saw opportunities to turn this challenging situation into a chance to further grow as the reference not-for-profit private European organisation to implement electoral support projects in line with the values and policies of the European Union and its Member states.

In order to face the challenges posed by COVID-19, ECES developed InnovElections, our very own response to continue delivering electoral assistance activities remotely and honouring our commitment towards donors and beneficiaries.

InnovElections is the tool drafted and copyrighted by ECES in response to the global Coronavirus pandemic, based on the comparative experience of ECES experts and partners in the field, further enhancing the contextualisation of the training programmes to the local realities affected by the COVID-19 crisis. Officially launched on 15 December 2020 as part of the announcement by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of its "Partnership with Africa" policy document, the InnovElections project has been developed in collaboration with the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies of Pisa and implemented with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research.

Meanwhile, as our EURECS and PEV Ethiopia projects were selected among the 10 best projects by the Paris Peace Forum, ECES was enrolled in the PPF Scale Up programme, whereby it will receive a 12-month customised support through monthly workshops, targeted advice and follow-up in policy and advocacy, communication, partnerships, and much more.

This constitutes a unique opportunity to improve even further and strive for excellence in the field of democracy and electoral assistance.

We are already looking at 2021 with ambition and enthusiasm!
