On 6 November, the ECES participated in the Women's Meeting: Parity: Progress and Challenges in the Face of the Subnational Elections, convened by the Yanapasiñani Centre of Bolivia in El Alto. The meeting brought together 210 women from various women's organisations in El Alto and La Paz province.

Katia Uriona, senior gender expert at ECES, presented a paper on the challenges of women's political participation and on parity as a democratising principle of the country's political and representative system. She also highlighted and characterised the forms of harassment and political violence against women based on gender, which are directed against women leaders, candidates, and elected officials.

Representatives of the organisations worked in groups to identify their proposals for the subnational elections scheduled for March. In these elections, the principles of parity and alternation must be applied to the presentation of candidacies for the departmental and municipal governments in the country. At the end of the meeting, a public statement was approved and presented at a press conference.
