From September 16 to 18, 2025, the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), with the support of the Parliamentary and Electoral Process Support Project (PAPPE) funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES), is organizing a workshop in N'Djamena to validate the report on prison conditions assessment missions.

This workshop brings together more than 40 key actors, including 13 women (30%): representatives of the CNDH, civil society organizations, prison administration, and technical and financial partners.

Together, participants will take stock of prison conditions in Chad, analyze persistent challenges—in particular prison overcrowding and propose concrete ways to strengthen the protection of prisoners' rights.

The discussions will provide an opportunity to share best practices, formulate strategic recommendations, and develop a consolidated report that will serve as a reference for sustainably improving monitoring and protection mechanisms.
