A training course aimed at strengthening the skills of journalists and members of the High Authority for Media and Audiovisual (HAMA) on the legislative and regulatory framework for the media will be held from 27 to 29 May 2025 at the Hotel de l'Amitié in N'Djamena.
This initiative, organised as part of the Parliamentary and Electoral Process Support Project (PAPPE), is funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES). It is part of a drive to strengthen democratic governance in Chad by supporting institutions committed to guaranteeing fundamental freedoms in the public sphere.
The training will address key issues such as the conditions for the creation and financing of media outlets, regulation, professional ethics and press offences. The aim is to ensure that the Chadian public has access to free, comprehensive, truthful and objective information, while strengthening the role of the media in promoting peace and social cohesion.
Thirty (30) media managers, including directors and editors-in-chief from N'Djamena, as well as five (5) heads of technical departments at HAMA, will have the opportunity to benefit from this enriching training.
