This study, titled "Study on election related violence based on data of early warning and rapid response system",is a combination of the results and findings from the study on electoral violence conducted using the early warning approach. It aims to better understand the phenomenon of electoral violence that took place during the Madagascar presidential elections of 2018.

It was published as part of the PEV Madagascar project implemented by ECES and implementing partners with the financil support of the European Union. 

 

The results of this study seek to:

  • Establish an updated mapping of sensitive and "hot" zones;
  • Determine the specific characteristics of electoral violence in Madagascar, during the 2018 presidential electoral process, through the analysis of its manifestation, actors, causes and consequences
  •  Provide an analysis and inventory of the response mechanisms and activities implemented to tackle election related violence.
