As part of the Parliamentary and Electoral Process Support Programme (PAPPE), funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), the High Authority for Media and Audiovisual (HAMA) is conducting a field mission in 34 towns across Chad. The aim of this operation is to produce a comprehensive and up-to-date map of private radio stations across the country with a view to capacity building and targeted support.
To this end, a HAMA team led by Mr Ali Mahamat Mbodou, Head of the Legal Affairs and Cooperation Department, accompanied by Mr Betel Miarom, Head of the Media Development Department, and observers from the sector, carried out this working visit. This step is part of a structured process to collect data on the functioning, resources, programmes and challenges faced by local radio stations.
The results of this mapping exercise will enable HAMA to produce a comprehensive report for PAPPE.
