As part of the EU funded project of PEV-Ethiopia, an energetic group of young women representing different organizations and women movements joined an engaging 3-day Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders Training (LEAD) on January 28 – 30, 2020 at ECES offices in Addis Ababa.

The young women gained a better understanding of the crucial roles they play in the improvement of the electoral process in Ethiopia by enhancing their leadership skills and taking on broad means for managing and preventing electoral violence and conflict throughout the electoral cycle.

LEAD is a flexible learning tool that is customised according to the specific context and target group. It provides participants with the resources and skills needed to replicate the training and thus guarantee its sustainability. LEAD uses adult education techniques with a value-based approach. Instead of relying on conventional teaching methods such as lecturing, LEAD is activity-based and focuses on practical problem solving of the real-time challenges that electoral stakeholders are faced with..
