As part of the European Response for Electoral Cycle Support (EURECS II) project, co-funded by the European Union and German cooperation, ECES conducted a two-day training on LEAD – Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders for 26 representatives of the Coalition of Ethiopian Civil Society Organizations for Elections (CECOE).
ECES supported the creation of CECOE in 2019 and has since accompanied its development by providing technical support in key areas such as election observation, civic and voter education, early warning systems, and media monitoring.
The training brought together participants from various regions of Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, with the aim of strengthening their leadership skills, fostering mutual understanding, encouraging internal dialogue, and proposing improved governance models for the functioning of their respective organisations.
During the sessions, participants worked on mapping their social identity, identifying their core values, improving transparent communication, and analysing emotional intelligence in order to develop more conscious and inclusive leadership.
This activity is part of a strategic component of the EURECS II project, which aims to strengthen the capacities of Ethiopian civil society organisations and the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE).
