Since February 2026, young people and civic actors across Lebanon have been strengthening their ability to manage disagreement, address tensions and contribute to more peaceful and inclusive democratic participation through the LEAD Lebanon programme. The European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) has launched a dedicated website and programme dashboard for this project.
The Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders (LEAD), is a flagship ECES methodology, delivered in Lebanon in partnership with the Arab Center for the Development of the Rule of Law and Integrity (ACRLI) and funded by the European Union under the project «Inclusive Democratic Participation: Strengthening Education, Participation and Oversight in Lebanon».
This rehearsed methodology is not lectured and equips young people and civic actors with practical skills in leadership, negotiation, mediation, active listening and conflict management. Through simulations, such as the «Circle of Light» (دائرة النور), role-play and real casework, participants learn how to manage disagreement constructively and prevent everyday tensions from hardening into division.
The platform brings together the programme’s activities, participants, training locations, results and supporting documents in one accessible space. It provides a clear overview of what LEAD Lebanon set out to achieve, what has been delivered so far and what the available evidence shows.
The dashboard presents the different stages of the programme, from the Training of Trainers to the cascade sessions delivered in Tripoli, Baalbek, Aley and Chtoura. It also provides information on the 24 certified trainers, the 76 young people reached to date and the main topics covered during the training sessions.
A dedicated results section presents available monitoring and evaluation findings. For instance, in the fully evaluated Chtoura round, participants’ mastery of the training content increased from 47% to 74%, while confidence in their own abilities rose from 2.85 to 4.36 on a five-point scale. The sessions also received an overall rating of 4.72 out of 5.
By bringing programme information, results, photographs, reports and evaluation materials together, the LEAD Lebanon dashboard website supports greater transparency, learning and access to information. It also offers partners and stakeholders a practical way to follow the programme’s development and achievements.
