In the framework of the "Support to the Democratization Process in Sudan" (SDP-SUDAN) Project , ECES  in collaboration with the Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL) delivered a Training of Trainers (ToT) on "Leadership & Conflict Management skills for Electoral Stakeholders" (LEAD) in Khartoum in May 2013.

ECES would firstly like to thank the National Electoral Commission (NEC) of Sudan, the European Union and the International Organization for Migration for this exceptional opportunity to share its experience, through this important EU-funded project in capacity development.

Along with NEC's top management, we were honoured to have among us representatives from the political parties, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Electoral Court, National Assembly and the Sudanese Civil Society: the Women Studies Centre, the Consultancy Group for Development, the National Civic Forum and the Sanad Charity Foundation.

The LEAD methodology developed with CCL looks into ways in which electoral administrators and other electoral stakeholders can improve their leadership skills and develop means to prevent the escalation of election-related conflict and violence throughout the electoral cycle.

All the participants to the ToT signed a declaration on the last day of the training indicating that they wished to see the same concepts disseminated in the different states of Sudan and at term for the whole country of in view of the next by-elections and 2015 elections.
