Last week we conducted a technical mission to the Electoral Commission of Ghana (ECG) in Accra, reaffirming a long-standing partnership on advancing electoral integrity and institutional capacity.

Over the course of several days, ECES team on the field, composed by Khaldoun Dudin, Senior ICT Electoral Expert, Granville Abrahams, Senior Electoral Management Expert, and José Enrique Román Sierra, our ISO Lead Electoral Assessor, engaged in an in-depth technical discussion with the Commission’s leadership and operational teams. These exchanges covered critical components of the electoral cycle, including voter accreditation systems, results transmission mechanisms, voter registration processes, as well as internal human resource management and archiving systems.

Furthermore, ECG is implementing the integration of the ISO/TS 54001 ECES copyrighted standards into Ghanian upcoming strategic planning cycle, which represents a fundamental evolution in how electoral integrity is ensured. The ECG is working to institutionalize quality through documented, repeatable and certifiable processes to strengthen transparency, accountability and efficiency in electoral management bodies.

Our activity in the country focused on reinforcing sustainable democratic governance through the support for resilient institutions that can consistently deliver credible elections beyond individual electoral cycles.

The dialogue reflected a shared commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in electoral administration.
