In the framework of the long-standing partnership with the School of Advanced Studies of Pisa, ECES is joining the prestigious group of Italian and international private companies and NGOs to the JobFair 2020 held online on 21-22 October 2020.

The JobFair was established in 2014 as an initiative of the Career Service of the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, as an annual event of career day with the aim of creating a link between the academic world and the job market. Since the first edition, the event has had remarkable results and throughout the years the event has been growing and enlarging not only to more companies and students but also from the institutional standpoint.

Indeed, in 2015, Scuola Normale Superiore, IUSS Pavia and IMT Lucca joined the JobFair and, from 2017 onwards, the event has involved all the six “Scuole Universitarie Superiori” (Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca, IUSS Pavia, SISSA from Trieste and Gran Sasso Science Institute from L’Aquila).

It is now recognised as the first job meeting of the Italian Schools of excellence.

In the 2019 JobFair edition, 51 leading companies participated in the event representing numerous sectors, from consulting to the high-tech industry: more than 200 students from the six Schools (Honor students of undergraduate, Master's and PhD programs) met in Sant’Anna premises carrying out over 950 one-to-one interviews. About 80 PhD students carried out one-to-one interviews.

In 2020, the 7th edition of the JobFair will be held on the 21st and 22nd oof October. It will be run entirely ONLINE at this address: https://www.santannapisa.it/it/event/job-fair-2020-il-job-meeting-delle-scuole-di-eccellenza-italiane

The 6 Italian Schools of excellence

The 6 Schools of excellence are italian special statute university institutions, also called "Scuole Universitarie Superiori", holding a unique position within the Italian higher education system. They are public universities in their own right and carry out research and education in applied and pure sciences. Three of them offer undergraduate (three-year degree and master's degree) and post-graduate courses (PhD) meanwhile the other three train only PhD students (GSSI, IMT and SISSA). The Schools of excellence model is based on the French Grandes Ecoles model with basic principles: the selection of students exclusively on the basis of merit and a strong intertwinning of teaching and research, community life and a great openness towards international exchanges.

The main goal is to improve student performance through high-quality professional educating. This is pursued and achieved through:

  • High quality, interdisciplinary course content;
  • Exchange programmes with the world's best universities;
  • Collaborative research through partnerships;
  • Quality apprenticeships, training and international mobility.
