Earlier this month, our team at ECES headquarters in Brussels organised an internal online Communication & Visibility Training for project teams across all active locations worldwide. The session was fully aligned with the EU guidelines “Communicating and Raising EU Visibility: Guidance for External Actions” (2022), ensuring that all teams remain up to date with European Union visibility requirements while enhancing the presentation of our projects externally.
During the training, participants learned how to acknowledge EU funding consistently, applying the EU emblem and funding statements correctly and ensuring visibility is embedded in both planning and delivery. Strategic communication approaches were emphasised, showing how clear messaging, audience-tailored content, and data-driven monitoring strengthen transparency, accountability and the public understanding of our on-going and future activities and results.
Key takeaways from the session included the importance of making communication and visibility part of project design, recognising that visibility counts as an eligible cost under EU funding, and understanding the EU’s rights regarding communication materials produced by partners. Participants also explored how involving the EU in strategic communication actions, such as press engagement, events, and audiovisual content production, helps align messages with EU priorities and maximise impact.
As ECES broadens its outreach globally, maintaining strong communication and visibility remains a key priority in 2026, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability and the effective delivery of EU-funded projects.
