Madagascar, October 29

ECES has just published the Compendium of recommendations of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), developed following the Reflection workshop on the lessons learned and the recommendations of the CENI on the electoral process and this within the framework of the Project of support for the development and consolidation of democracy and the rule of law in Madagascar (PADEM), implemented with the financial support of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF).

This publication comes at a key moment in the electoral process, in particular on the eve of a new electoral cycle and the establishment of a new CENI, which is the opportune moment to remember the achievements to be consolidated and the challenges remaining to be raised. Thus, the collection aims to highlight the evaluation and observation work done along the electoral process both by the CENI and by both national and international bodies and to leave strong recommendations for the next electoral cycle. It is thus a practical tool for the new CENI team and this to consolidate the achievements and continue the projects started but deserving urgent work of continuity.

The topics covered concern the legal framework governing elections, the electoral register, electoral civic education, and the management of the electoral budget by the electoral commission.
