Madagascar, 20-21 March.

Mr. Fabio Bargiacchi (ECES Executive Director), Mr.Jose Lambiza (ECES Finance Director), Mr. Gorka Gamarra (ECES Representative in Comoros) and Ms Eva Palmans (ECES Representative in Madagascar), took part in the conference on “women and minority participation in electoral processes”. The conference was organized in the context of the network of the French speaking electoral management bodies (EMBs) regrouping 35 EMBs from America, Europe and especially Africa (www.recef.org). ECES did a presentation about challenges related to women participation in politics and seized the opportunity to launch the publication: « Tsi Chindi, Ngodjo chinda! J’ai réussi, tu réussiras ! Douze femmes, douze parcours exceptionnels » on women participation in politics, based on ECES’ experience in the Comoros Islands. This publication regroups twelve successful  stories of women as to inspire others to be active in public and political life. ECES had the opportunity to invite the only female Deputy of Comoros Islands to present her experience to the audience as to show how she succeeded in passing social and cultural obstacles preventing women of occupying high positions in political life.
