The Support Project to the Parliament and Electoral Processes (PAPPE), funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), continues its commitment to promoting inclusive and sustainable democratic governance in Chad.
In this context, a training workshop on Mediation, Diplomacy and Negotiation is being held from 29 to 31 October 2025 in N’Djamena, at the Hôtel de l’Amitié.
Organized for the benefit of the National Coalition of Moral Authorities for Strengthening the Voices of Peace (CONAMM/Chad), the training brought together 30 participants — including 16 from N’Djamena and 14 from various provinces. These moral and community leaders, representing diverse religious and traditional backgrounds, are key actors in social dialogue and national pacification.
The workshop focuses on community mediation, diplomacy, and negotiation techniques tailored to the Chadian context. The sessions, conducted in a participatory and hands-on approach, combine case studies, simulations, and experience sharing to strengthen the participants’ abilities in conflict prevention and peaceful resolution.
This initiative aligns with the PAPPE’s vision of promoting participatory and peaceful governance, valuing traditional knowledge, and empowering moral authorities in peacebuilding. By enhancing their capacities, the project helps community leaders become better equipped to offer their good offices in local or national crises, promote coexistence, and reinforce social cohesion.
The training also helped establish a network of provincial mediators, now capable of acting locally in coordination with the national CONAMM.
Through this action, the PAPPE and its partners reaffirm their commitment to supporting Chad on its path toward lasting peace and more inclusive governance.
