As part of the implementation of the Project to Support the Strengthening of Democracy in the Republic of Guinea – PARD Guinea (http://democracy-support.eu/guinee/), and in response to the needs expressed by the various actors in the Guinean electoral process, the project aims to strengthen the capacities of Guinean journalists through a specialised training programme.

ECES, in partnership with the Imagine Foundation (https://www.imaginethechange.it/) and in response to requests from the Maison de la Presse, is launching a comprehensive training programme on 20 May 2025 in Conakry for more than 800 journalists throughout the country.

Through five workshops in Conakry and fourteen decentralised sessions in the seven administrative regions, this training programme aims to strengthen the technical, ethical and strategic skills of media professionals in order to guarantee free, resilient and high-quality information, particularly in the run-up to the constitutional referendum scheduled for September 2025.

The training will cover key topics such as mobile journalism, fact-checking, storytelling tailored to different media, journalism in times of crisis, and mastery of digital and multimedia tools. This programme responds to an urgent need to strengthen journalistic capacities, with the aim of contributing to a more balanced, ethical and professional media ecosystem throughout the country.
