Moroni, 30 June to 2 July 2025. Over three days, ECES, as part of the Shawiri project, is organising a training course for young Comorians on leadership, conflict management and mentoring. This training is one of many initiatives aimed at strengthening young people's participation in the country's political and civic life (establishment of a National Youth Council to contribute to political dialogue with the authorities; strengthening youth leaders; strengthening spaces dedicated to young people; strengthening youth associations, particularly with a view to conducting dialogue with the authorities; and strengthening young people themselves).

This training is based on the LEAD training concept developed by ECES and adapted by trainer Sylvestre Somo to strengthen the capacities of young leaders.

At the end of this training, 25 young representatives of civil society are expected to have strengthened their leadership and conflict management skills in order to be better leaders in their communities. It should be noted that six representatives of the Indian Ocean Regional Youth Parliament (PRJIO) are participating in this training, selected through a process carried out as part of a regional project of the Indian Ocean Commission funded by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and with the support of ECES.
