On Saturday, October 11, the Civil Society Organisations Election Observation Mission of Gabon (MOE-OSC) and the Citizens’ Observation Mission for a Transparent Election (MOCET) held a joint press conference following their observation of the second round of the 2025 legislative elections.
The Head of Mission of MOE-OSC expressed her sincere gratitude to the European Union and the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES) for their support through the PACEM project, which enabled the deployment of this mission. She emphasised that this project represents a genuine transfer of skills, as Gabonese civil society organisations are now able to autonomously deploy a national election observation mission — from the training of observers to the collection and analysis of field data.
This deployment, supported by the PACEM project, is part of a broader effort to promote electoral transparency and strengthen the capacities of non-state actors, who are essential to Gabon’s democratic development.
MOE-OSC and MOCET also commended the work of their observers across the country and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the professionalisation of citizen election observation.
