On July 8, the Human Rights Program Officer of the European Union Delegation in Bolivia, Roman Poznanski, visited the media and social media monitoring units of the domestic Election Observation Mission Observa Bolivia, installed at the offices of the Construir Foundation in La Paz. Financing of all technical equipment and subscription to respective monitoring software are part of the technical assistance program developed by ECES in Bolivia through the PRO-Election Bolivia project, which has also provided training to the 11 media and social media monitors that integrate the monitoring units. During the visit, ECES media and communications expert Javier Gutiérrez explained to Roman Poznanski the specifics of both monitoring units, as well as the methodologies implemented for analysing media coverage of the electoral process and identifying potential instances of disinformation and hate speech.
