The European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), within the framework of the PRO-Elección Bolivia project, financed by the European Union and the FPI, supported the implementation of the Training on Generative Artificial Intelligence Applied to Gender-Focused Work, aimed at the technical team of the Coordinadora de la Mujer.
The activity was conducted in person and had a duration of 15 academic hours, with the objective of strengthening institutional capacities for the strategic, ethical, and critical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in key areas such as institutional communication, document management, information analysis, and the design of rights- and gender-based campaigns.
Throughout the training, key topics were addressed from an applied perspective, including an understanding of how AI works, the risks associated with algorithmic biases, the protection of sensitive data, ethics, and human oversight in the use of these technologies. In addition, practical exercises were developed focusing on report drafting, political context analysis, the creation of communication content using inclusive language, and the design of graphic and audiovisual materials supported by AI tools.
The training process was facilitated by Luis Rodríguez Camacho, a social communication specialist and expert in innovation and Artificial Intelligence, who highlighted the role of civil society organizations in the responsible appropriation of these technologies, particularly in electoral contexts and environments of high political sensitivity.
This initiative is part of the comprehensive strategy of the PRO-Elección Bolivia project, implemented by ECES under its EURECS methodology – European Response to Electoral Cycle Support, which promotes a multi-stakeholder approach to prevent conflicts, strengthen electoral integrity, and foster inclusive and violence-free political participation, with particular emphasis on women’s rights.
Through actions such as this, ECES reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the capacities of Bolivian civil society, promoting democratic innovation, and mainstreaming gender and human rights approaches throughout the 2025–2026 electoral cycle.
