On the 31st of July, in Samburu East, the Peace Building and Reconciliation Department of the National Cohesion and National Commission (NCIC) brought together a combination of Community Dialogue Meetings in Samburu County.

Together, we delve into insightful and engaging discussions on how to counter the current serious attacks in the region, with Longewan being the latest after Samburu and Pokot Morans clashed on July 23.

Despite the current presence of combined military and police operations, we chose to support NCIC with its own complementary approach to counter the registered violence in the region. Additionally, these were holistically held by visiting a diverse combination of areas in Samburu East, such as:

  • Longewan, Samburu West: Meeting with a cross-section of community leaders from Longewan, Lolmolog, and Lokorate
  • Losuk, Samburu West: Meeting with a cross-section of community leaders from Losuk, Pura, and Loibornkare
  • Archerspost, Samburu East: Meeting with a cross-section of community leaders and Morans from Archerspost, Laresoro, and Lerata
  • Wamba, Samburu East: Meeting with a cross-section of community leaders and Morans from Wamba, Nkilai, and Naisunyai/Lenkusaka
  • Sereolipi, Samburu East: Meeting with a cross-section of community leaders and Morans from Sereolipi and Ndonyo Wasin
