The Support Project to the Parliament and the Electoral Process (PAPPE), funded by the European Union and implemented by the European Centre for Electoral Support (ECES), is organizing a technical workshop from 28 to 30 October 2025 in N’Djamena on the preparation for the digitalization of the archives of key State institutions: the Supreme Court, Constitutional Council, National Election Management Agency (ANGE), National Assembly, and Senate.
This activity is part of PAPPE’s efforts to strengthen institutional and technical capacities of governance bodies and support the establishment of modern archiving systems.
The workshop aims to lay the technical and organizational foundations for the implementation of an Electronic Archiving System (EAS) adapted to the context of Chadian institutions.
The discussions will cover:
- the presentation of key concepts and good practices in archiving;
- the assessment of existing archiving systems;
- the development of a classification and indexing plan;
- the definition of the technical and functional specifications of the future EAS.
Thirty participants from the five institutions are taking part in this workshop, which combines technical presentations, experience sharing, and group work to develop common guidelines for the progressive digitalization of archives.
The establishment of an electronic archiving system will help preserve, organize, and facilitate access to administrative and judicial documents, contributing to the improved management of the national documentary heritage.
