Fabio Bargiacchi, Founder and Executive Director of ECES, gratefully acknowledged the award received at the 8th Continental Forum of Electoral Management Bodies, recognizing ECES’ commitment to transparent electoral processes.

This award holds deep historical significance, representing the Statue in Coutonu in memory of the Amazons of Dahomey. They were an all-female military regiment of the Kingdom of Dahomey - in today's Benin -, that existed from the 17th century until the late 19th century.

Dr. Sacca Lafia, Head of the Electoral Commission of Benin, presented the prize on behalf of the Association of African Electoral Authorities, recognizing ECES and its Executive Director for “having been a combatant side by side to African Electoral Commissions for more than 20 years, contributing to their democracy and electoral processes”.

Deep gratitude to ECES' partners, especially the EU, Italy, Germany, France, Denmark, Ireland, Austria, and Luxembourg, for their crucial support in establishing and growing our organization, their contributions have made a significant impact.
