Delivery of electoral materials to the Electoral Commission (CENI) in Burkina Faso
The Project in Support of the Credibility and Transparency of Elections in Burkina Faso - PACTE-BF, funded by the European Union, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of France and the Kingdom of Denmark, and implemented by ECES, delivered on 7th October a large batch of electoral materials to the electoral commission (CENI) of Burkina Faso, consisting of 28.000 ballot boxes, more than 150.000 hardcover binders, 380.000 sealed envelopes, over 26.000 lamps, more than 20.000 election vests and so on.
"This massive help we receive guarantees us greater chances of success," said the president of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Barthelemy Kéré. He added: "For several months, we worked with dedicated experts of ECES, who allowed us to work serenely in the preparation phase, before the operational phase of voting, in order to properly equip polling stations and electoral staff".
Jean Lamy, Ambassador of the European Union in Burkina Faso, during the official ceremony of delivery of electoral materials to the CENI welcomed " the wonderful work accomplished by the CENI and its partner, ECES. With their professionalism and exemplary transparency, proved by the impressive amount of electoral material stored behind me, we can say that at the tehchnical level, everything is now in place for the holding these elections as scheduled. "
