ECES in Burkina Faso

The European Center for Electoral Support (ECES) announces the launching of its first project in Burkina Faso: “Project to Support the Credibility and Transparency of Elections in Burkina Faso” (PACTE-BF Projet d’Appui à la Crédibilité et à la Transparence des Elections au Burkina Faso (PACTE-BF).


The overall objective of PACTE-BF project is to contribute to the organization of credible, transparent and peaceful elections in Burkina Faso by strengthening the capacity of electoral stakeholders.


This will be achieved primarily through the support of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and the construction of its long-term capacity through technical and operational assistance. After the events of 2014, the objectives of the project prove to be deeply in line with the major priorities of the national authorities of Burkina Faso. The launch of this project is a major achievement for ECES in the consolidation of its presence in West Africa and is based on the extensive experience of the organization on the continent.


The project, expected to begin in May 2015, will last 12 months and will be conducted in partnership with the Osservatorio di Pavia and Leadership Beyond Boundaries. The project is co-financed by the European Union, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Austria, the French Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark.


The main Electoral Expert of ECES, Dr. Dunia Ramazani will lead the project, assisted by Alain Andriamananony, Administration and Finance Expert, Ms. Susie Bakajika, Ms Martina Garbuglia and Ms. Lora Bulat.
