ECES address in Burkina Faso

The European Centre for Electoral Support is delighted to announce the launching of its first Project in Burkina Faso: Projet d’Appui à la Crédibilité et à la Transparence des Elections au Burkina Faso (PACTE-BF).

The overall objective of the PACTE-BF project is to contribute to the organisation of credible, transparent and peaceful elections in Burkina Faso through the strengthening of electoral stakeholders’ capacities.

This will be achieved mainly through the support of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and by building its long term capacity through technical and operational assistance. Following the events of 2014, these objectives confirmed to be deeply in line with the major priorities of the Burkina Faso national authorities. The launching of this project constitutes a key achievement for ECES in consolidating its presence in West Africa and builds on the organisation’s vast experience in the continent.

The project, which is expected to start in May 2015, will last for 12 months and will be carried out in partnership with the Osservatorio di Pavia and the Leadership Beyond Boundaries. It is co-financed by the European Union, the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Denmark and the Republic of Austria.

ECES’ senior electoral expert, Dr. Dunia Ramazani will head the project, assisted by Mr. Alain Andriamananony, Head of Finances, Ms Susie Bakajika, Ms Martina Garbuglia and Ms Lora Bulat.
