ECES is happy to support the Independent Election Commission of Jordan (IEC) and the International Centre for Parliamentary Studies (ICPS) to organise the 15th International Electoral Symposium and International Awards Ceremony in the context of the EU funded programme "EU Support to Jordanian Democratic Institutions & Development, EU JDID.
This event will will be held at Kempinski Hotel at the Dead Sea in Jordan on 4-6 December 2017.
The Symposium will bring representatives from the electoral democracy community and election management bodies (EMBs) from around the middle east and the rest of the world to share best practice initiatives and develop innovative strategies that they can then put into practice in their respective countries and regions.
This will include the topics of the use of technology in elections and of the long term capacity development of EMBs staff in the context of the establishment of the upcoming IEC Regional Electoral Training Center in Amman.
The crowning event of the meeting, the International Electoral Awards Ceremony will recognize the work of the international electoral community by honouring their significant contribution to the democratic process on an international level.
ICPS held International Electoral Affairs Symposiums and International Electoral Awards ceremonies all over the world - from Malaysia, Mexico, Kenya, South Africa, Namibia, Jamaica, Mozambique and more. The last International Electoral Affairs Symposium held in 24th to 26th May 2017 in Sri Lanka, in cooperation with The Election Commission of Sri Lanka, registered with participants coming from over 35 different countries.
