Closing of Cascade Training LEAD PACTE BF
Within the framework of the Project PACTE-BF (Projet d’Appui à la Crédibilité et à la Transparence des Elections au Burkina Faso), two Cascade Trainings on Leadership and Conflict Management for Electoral Stakeholders (LEAD) have been organized from the 10th to the 14th August 2015, in Ouagadougou. Each training was attended by 30 participants.
The overall objective of the LEAD trainings is to strengthen the capacities of the electoral stakeholders in leadership, increase their trust capital and provide them with the necessary tools for decision making, and conflict management throughout the electoral cycle. Particularly, the LEAD Training of Trainers is aimed at creating a pool of trainers who, following the accreditation steps, will be able to become LEAD certified trainers and certifying trainers. In fact, LEAD Cascade Trainings allow the new trainers to complete the processes and to become fully certified, or even certifying.
The LEAD Cascade Trainings held in Ouagadougou from 10 to 14 August 2015, follow an intensive training process counting 12 LEAD Trainings held between 6 July and 30 July in all the regions of Burkina Faso and a LEAD Training of Trainers held in Ouagadougou from 6 to 13 July 2015.
One last LEAD Training is scheduled for the end of August 2015. This LEAD Training will conclude a period of intensive trainings ahead of the Presidential and Legislative elections of October 11, 2015.
Following the training process, consisting of LEAD Training of Trainers and 15 LEAD Cascade Trainings (12 in all the regions of Burkina and three in the capital), Burkina Faso can count on a "pool" of at least 450 persons trained in Leadership and Conflict Management, at least 39 semi-certified LEAD trainers, including 16 women, at least 34 certified trainers including, 12 women, and at least 4 certifying Trainers, including 1 woman.
Implemented in the context of the electoral process of closing the political and institutional transition in Burkina Faso, PACTE-BF project aims to contribute to the holding of credible, transparent and peaceful elections through the capacity building of electoral stakeholders. Specifically the project provides technical and operational support to the INEC of Burkina Faso and its branches and contributes to long-term capacity building of the institutions.
