Professor Bob Kabamba is a Board Member at ECES. Bob is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electoral Training School in Central Africa and Director of CAPAC (support of political science in Central Africa Unit), has a doctorate in political science and is a professor of political science at the University of Liege. He was an international consultant at Development Alternatives Inc. (DAI) in Washington, USA, in the Department of Support for the DRC Parliament and Provincial Assemblies in South Kivu, Maniema, Katanga and Bandundu. Before that, he was an international expert with Price Waterhouse Coopers, supporting the reform of the security sector process in the Democratic Republic of Congo.


 
As an international expert at the Amani Programme (North Kivu and South Kivu), Kabamba supported conflict resolution, monitoring of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration of militia groups in the provinces of North Kivu and South Kivu. He is a facilitator in conflict prevention at the Campus itinerant formerly "Preventing Genocide" . Kabamba is also a workshop manager at the University of Leige, Belgium in “Democracy in the DRC, how does it work?". During his time at the Independent Electoral Commission (DRC), he was involved in drafting elecotral law measures and supported the United Nations Programme for Development (UNDP / DRC) to develop legal reference “kits” for national deputies in the DRC. He supported the Supreme Court of Justice (DRC) on behalf of the International Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in the treatment of the contentious presidential elections of 30 July 2006. He has also supported the Congolese Parliament (Senate and National Assembly) in drafting key legislation and training Congolese Parliamentarians on electoral systems. Lastly, Kabamba supported the Congolese Senate in writing the first draft of the Congolese Constitution, which was adopted by referendum on 15 and 16 December 2005, publicised by the Congolese president on February 18, 2006.
