On the 17th of July 2019 our Parliamentary Support component organized the first workshop for the Budget Department of the House of Representatives.
It sought to develop the methodology for preparing the first interim budget implementation report, which will allow for Parliament to monitor public accounts, budget revenues and spending, in the middle of the fiscal year.
The workshop focused on best practices in preparing committee reports on in-year budget implementation, the relevance of such reports for effective financial and budgetary oversight, and determining the scope, structure and steps to be taken to prepare the first report in 2020.
