ECES is delighted to announce its renewed collaboration with the Electoral Integrity Project (EIP), an independent academic project that actively promotes better practices in the electoral field across the globe through a variety of publications, datasets, and outreach activities.
“It is with great pleasure that we renew this partnership that has been ongoing since 2017 in line with our own commitment to electoral transparency, fairness and best practices in electoral processes,” said Fabio Bargiacchi, ECES co-founder and Executive Director.
“Four years ago, I had the pleasure to deliver the International Institutional Engagement Award to the EIP, during the 15th International Electoral Awards Ceremony, held in #Jordan. This was a recognition of EIP’s contribution the democratic process on an international level.”
Since 2017, ECES has been supporting this independent project in active and prolific production of innovative research and publications related to electoral processes and #democracy worldwide.
As an organisation certified ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems, ECES values the adherence to the highest international standards in all areas of work, including #research.
Since its inception in mid-2012, the Electoral Integrity Project has focused upon three issues:
- When do #elections meet international standards of electoral #integrity?
- What happens when elections fail to do so?
- And what can be done to mitigate these problems?
As the project’s director Pr. Pippa Norris gives way to a new leadership team headed by Dr. Holly Ann Garnett and deputy director Pr. Toby S. James, ECES renews its commitment to supporting electoral processes worldwide and the EIP’s academic work in this regard.
EIP is based at the Royal Military College of Canada, Queen's University (#Canada), and the @UNiversity of East Anglia (#UK).
