Under the context of the democratic package in Ethiopia (EU4democracy) fully funded by the European Union, the PEV-Ethiopia project has implemented an interactive 4-day Leadership and Conflict Management Skills for Electoral Stakeholders Training (LEAD) to graduate and undergraduate students from the School of Journalism and Communications at Addis Ababa University, Sidist Kilo campus.
ECES, along with its implementing partners, is delighted to witness the change in attitudes these individuals showed throughout the training.
The overall objective of the LEAD workshop is to look into ways in which representatives of electoral stakeholders (namely representatives of Electoral Management Bodies - EMBs), Non-Governmental Organisations, Political Parties, Academics and Practitioners can improve their leadership skills and take on board means for preventing and/or mitigating the escalation of electoral violence and conflict throughout the respective electoral cycle.
