ECES participated to the official launch in Johannesbourg of the guidelines concerning the role of social media and artificial intelligence in electoral processes titled “Principles and Guidelines for the Use of Digital and Social Media in Elections in Africa”.
The guidelines have been produced by Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) in collaboration with the Association of African Electoral Authorithies and to which ECES has also contributed.
ECES Founder & Executive Director, Fabio Bargiacchi, was invited to share the experiences of ECES on the matter matured as well with ECES Senior Media Monitoring Expert, Amirouche Nedjaa and Senior ICT Expert, Khaldoun Dudin.
Our Participation and contribution was organized in the context of our close partnership with African Union (AU) and with the Association of African Electoral Authorities (AAEA) via our Pro Electoral Integrity Project funded Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs through Italian-African Peace Facility (IAPF).
