Antananarivo, 7 December 2021, ECES today closed the Project to Support the Development and Consolidation of Democracy and the Rule of Law in Madagascar (PADEM), a project financed by the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
The closing ceremony was attended by the President of the National Assembly, parliamentarians, the President of the INEC and the 8 commissioners, the Vice-Minister in charge of youth and representatives of civil society organisations, political parties and the media, and was an opportunity to present the following achievements:
- A compendium on the challenges, achievements and recommendations of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the electoral process, which will enable strong recommendations and strategic tools for the next electoral cycle to be transmitted to the incoming INEC.
- Recommendations from a workshop on youth participation in political and public life.
- A collection of testimonies and recommendations on women's political participation in Madagascar. This publication, which brings together ten testimonies and portraits of women who have marked Madagascar's political history, aims to inspire women to get involved in politics, to stand as candidates or to take up decision-making positions.
