This project resume summarises ECES’ work in support of Burkina Faso's electoral process in 2015.

 

The Project in Support of the Credibility and Transparency of Elections in Burkina Faso (PACTE-BF) has been put together by ECES. It was funded by the European Union, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Austria, the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic and the Kingdom of Denmark and benefiting from the contribution of the Canadian Fund for Local Initiatives (FCIL) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Development of Canada, began in February 2015 and will end in August 2016.

The project PACTE-BF aimed to support the National Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) in the implementation of both the legislative and presidential elections of 2015 and the municipal elections of 2016 and was designed and implemented in close collaboration with the INEC.

This project resume was designed with the purpose to give information on the objectives and achievements of the project and is synthetically organized for easy reference. It provides all the information about the different activities that have been implemented in the framework of the multifaceted intervention that make up the project PACTE-BF. It also provides an overview of the key results achieved and the project’s contribution in support of the implementation of transparent, credible and peaceful elections in a historic moment for Burkina Faso.

The document also presents the conclusions of the project’s mid-term external evaluation in terms of its relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact and visibility.Furthermore; it offers readers the opportunity to obtain further information on the management and financial monitoring of the project as well as innovative tools used for that purpose, while reiterating how budgetary efficiency and the respect for procedures are constantly monitored through regular financial audits (expenditure and procedures).
